Hi Scorpion,
The correct tool for the job is the $70 seal driver. Any other method risks damaging the new fork seal.
I havn't got spare cash, so when I replaced the fork seals,I this is how I did it:
1. Take the fork tube out of the slider.
2. Coat the new seal with oil.
3. Gently tap the seal into the silder using a small hammer and a flat piece of wood. Try to keep the seal perfectly level at all times as it goes into the slider.
4. When the new seal is flush with the top of the silder, get the old fork seal you have just removed. Put the old seal on top of the new seal. put the wood on top and keep gently tapping.
5. When the new seal if seated, prise out the old seal with a screwdriver or something.
6. Continue assembly $70 richer.

It worked for me. It should work for you.
